All packages are semi-guided. The guides will coordinate with guests to determine locations. Guests will be dropped off and picked up; requests for a guide to stay with guests in the viewing areas will be accommodated when possible.
Each package includes at least 2 nights of lodging. Guests share the GBL Ranch House lodge with the Ranch Managers/Guides. There are 2 guest bedrooms. Each has 2 twin beds, a set of twin XL bunk beds, and a bathroom. Bedding (pillows, sheets, blankets), towels, toilet paper, and soap are provided. The main room of the Ranch House lodge can accommodate a small group meeting.
All transportation within the ranch is provided by the Ranch. Most hunting and wildlife viewing sites require some walking over uneven, rocky ground and climbing up stairs or ladders.
GBL is in the country; access to emergency response services is limited. There are natural and manmade dangers in this area as well as associated with the activities of living, ranching, and outdoor recreation including shooting, hunting and hiking. Each guest needs to be mindful of the risks and sign the ranch "Release of Liability and Acknowledgement and Acceptance of Risk" form.
GBL hosts only one group at a time. A group may not exceed a total of 6 guests, including hunters and non-hunters. We have a policy of only 1 guest 17 years old or under per group, but will consider exceptions.
Guests bring in food and beverages. The closest towns are 30 miles away and the hour trip, one-way, makes "eating out" not practical for most meals. The ranch managers will assist with meal preparation as needed and usually eat family-style with the ranch guests.
Success at GBL reflects the unpredictability of the Texas Hill Country and the individual objectives of our guests. Game and non-game animals are present all year. Many of the song birds are migratory.
All game taken must be consistent with State regulations and be on GBL's "Add-on” list. GBL Ranch is in Edwards County. See Texas Parks and Wildlife for more information.
Packages consist of 2 half days and one full day with arrival after Noon on the first day and departure before Noon on the third day. Package prices are a per person charge. The package cost is a minimum charge, applicable whether or not all included items and services (nights of lodging, hunting/wildlife viewing, and game) are used.
Separate arrangements can be made with us to provide meals. If interested, please discuss with the Ranch Manager.
Allow an hour to drive to the ranch from Junction, Texas. If you are not familiar with the area, plan to call us before you leave Junction so we can meet you on County Road 161 at Highway 377.
